Thorpe Design & Technologies design, manufacture and ship, metal stillages to different companies all over the UK and Europe. From their North Wales manufacturing facility they have the ability to carry out projects on a large scale, delivering both quality and volume. Thorpe Design & Technologies was established in 2004 and since then, has specialised in helping customers create cutting edge stillages, including various densities of Polyurathane mouldings.

Based in Speke, Liverpool, Airwise Pneumatics Limited is a family owned and run business, supplying complete compressed air systems and Nitrogen generators. Thorpe Design & Technologies approached Airwise Pneumatics back in 2015 – due to inflation in work, their existing compressor at times struggled to deliver, as Thorpe Design & Technologies were running off an old rotary screw compressor that was unreliable and not at all cost effective.

Airwise recommended the latest Hydrovane compressed air package, including fixed and variable speed compressors due to the high compressed air requirement fluctuations. The system was installed and set up, selecting the most efficient compressor at any given time and also allowing for duty/standby to provide efficient, cost effective production.

The Hydrovane ‘HR’ series rotary screw compressors from Airwise deliver more compressed air for less power consumption. They also offer ‘Air on Demand’, utilising variable speed drives, only producing the air in accordance to demand, resulting in at least 3% less power consumption compared to over-compressing wastage. They also combine ease of use and maintenance with exceptional versatility and environmentally responsible design.

The efficiency of a machine depends on the total costs incurred throughout the equipment’s entire service lifetime. With compressors, energy costs account for a high percentage of total costs. Hydrovane compressor systems are renowned throughout the industry for their reliability. Quiet in operation and low in maintenance costs, they are designed to operate at full load 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
